Olive Oil Assessment
Independent sensory assessment for producers, importers and suppliers
This service may be useful to producers considering the UK market, importers evaluating a new oil, or businesses wanting an informed independent opinion on an oil they already supply or are considering purchasing.
Initial EVOO Assessment — £50 per oil
The assessment includes:
- Sensory evaluation of the oil
- General impression of quality
- Assessment of the principal positive sensory characteristics, including fruitiness, bitterness and pungency
- Identification of any apparent sensory concerns or characteristics that may warrant further investigation
- A short written summary of my observations
An Important Note About Olive Oil Assessment
My assessments provide an independent professional opinion and an indication of the sensory characteristics and apparent quality of the oil submitted.
They are not an official classification or certification of an olive oil and do not replace accredited chemical analysis or assessment by a recognised sensory panel where these are required by regulations.
If the assessment raises questions that should be investigated further, I may recommend appropriate laboratory analysis or official sensory-panel testing.
