About
Helping you nourish your body, not just manage symptoms
Hello, I’m Massimo Ruano, a registered Nutritional Therapist and Food Safety Consultant with more than 20 years of experience working with food, quality systems and scientific standards.
For much of my career, my work centred on one essential objective: ensuring that food was safe. I worked in food laboratories, quality assurance and food safety consultancy, helping businesses produce food that met the highest standards of safety and quality.
Over the years, however, I found myself asking a different question.
If safe food protects us from harm, can good nutrition actively help us live healthier lives?
That question led me to study nutritional therapy and the growing body of research into how nutrition influences inflammation, gut health, metabolism, cardiovascular health and long-term wellbeing.
Today, I have the privilege of combining both worlds: helping people understand not only how to eat safely, but how to nourish their bodies well.
My Approach
My main belief is simple.
The body is the one that heals.
No food, supplement or practitioner has the power to heal the body. The human body has an extraordinary capacity to maintain, repair and restore itself..
My role is to help provide the body with the conditions it needs to do what it was made to do.
That means looking beyond quick fixes or miracle products. Nutrition is not about finding one “superfood” or the latest supplement. It is about consistently giving the body the nutrients, balance and environment it needs to function at its best.
When we nourish the body properly, support gut health, correct nutritional deficiencies, manage inflammation where appropriate, move regularly, sleep well and reduce unnecessary stress, we are supporting the body’s own remarkable design.
Modern medicine has transformed countless lives and remains essential, particularly in emergencies, trauma, surgery, infections and many medical conditions. My approach is not an alternative to good medical care, but a complementary one. While medicine often focuses on diagnosing and treating illness, my focus is on supporting the body’s normal physiology and helping people build the foundations of lasting health.
I don’t believe health comes from a particular food or supplement.
I believe good nutrition simply provides the body with what it needs to do what it was made to do.

Professional Background
Before qualifying in nutritional therapy, I spent more than two decades working in food quality and food safety.
My experience includes laboratory work, food microbiology, quality assurance and food safety consultancy, helping food businesses meet legal requirements while maintaining high standards of quality.
That scientific background continues to shape my nutritional practice today. I value evidence, enjoy understanding the science behind nutrition and believe research should always be translated into practical advice that people can realistically apply in everyday life.
Professional Registration
I am a registered member of the Federation of Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (FNTP) and my professional profile can be viewed through Nutrition Resources, where my registration and qualifications can be independently verified.
My Goal
My goal is not simply to tell people what to eat.
It is to help them understand why those choices matter.
I want to empower people to make informed, practical and sustainable decisions about food—choices that support the body’s natural ability to maintain health, today and for years to come.
